Developed for Rider’s 35th anniversary, the collection revisited the brand’s archive through two distinct approaches. Smooth 35TH reinterpreted the archival Rider 3 through a more substantial monobloc shape, incorporating the profile of the R1 flip-flop into a larger sculpted volume. The result connected recognizable elements from Rider’s history with the oversized proportions and molded footwear language that were gaining relevance at the time.
R35TH took a different approach, using the classic R86 silhouette as a canvas for a new graphic treatment. My role focused on developing the upper artwork and visual details, giving one of Rider’s most recognizable products a new expression while preserving its original shape and proportions. Together, the two products explored how the brand’s archive could be reinterpreted through both form and graphic language.
